The night before it is wanted put into a jar oatmeal, salt, and milk, allowing a handful of oatmeal, a small teaspoonful of salt, and a breakfastcupful of milk for each person. Stir, cover, and let it stand all night. In the morning set the jar in a goblet of water and let it steam for two hours or longer.1
