Quinoa is one of the kitchen good guys. You can cook it in big batches and refrigerate or freeze the cooked grain so it’s there when you need it, and it’s rich in protein, fibre and B vitamins. Most quinoa is pre-rinsed so there’s no need to worry about that step unless the packet instructions tell you to do it.

Ingredients

  • 200 g red or white quinoa, rinsed unless otherwise stated on packet
  • ² tsp sea salt

Method

Add the quinoa to a medium saucepan with 375 ml of water, bring to a boil then turn down to simmer, covered, for about 15 minutes or until the water has evaporated and you can see a little white tail on each grain. Set aside to cool and let the grains fluff for 5 minutes, then sprinkle in the sea s
