This sweet and tangy hoisin sauce is the perfect accompaniment to the Fresh Spring Rolls with Sweet Potato. You can also serve it alongside grilled tofu or use it in stir fries.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (120 ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce or tamari<

Method

Combine all the ingredients together in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, whisking occasionally, until the sauce thickens and starts to boil. Remove from the heat and allow the sauce to cool completely before serving. Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or up to 2 months in the freezer.
