This mix of fennel and cinnamon can only be described as heavenly.
Gently heat the oil in a large saucepan over a low heat. Add the chopped onions and sweat until opaque. Add the garlic and stir well, then add the fennel and stir well.
Add the chopped tomatoes and cinnamon, and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes,
Add the green beans and simmer for a further 10 minutes, or until the beans are cooked but not soft.
