Method

Put 1 pound hibiscus flowers and enough water to cover them in a large pot. Place over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 25 minutes. One pound can yield 2½ to 3 cups of strong juice concentrate. (To prepare the juice for drinking, only simmer it for 10 minutes and you will have a tart juice; about 5 cups total.)
