One fine day during my stay in Miyama, Yasuko and I walked over to the agricultural co-op for a meeting with her English-language group. This handful of women had asked Yasuko, who speaks English well, if she would give them English conversation lessons once a week. Since I was visiting, Yasuko had rescheduled the lesson so they could all have the opportunity to talk with a native speaker.
