Easy

Most people in Assam eat rice in some form three times a day. On our way up the Brahmaputra River valley from Guwahati to Kaziranga, we passed piles of harvested rice spread out on the road to dry. Farther up the valley we started to see tea plantations, vast acreages covered with the low trimmed shapes of tea trees. Every so often we’d see tea workers, mostly women, carrying huge baskets, moving through the shiny green of the tea.
