This is a favourite around the world. Sometimes known in Sri Lanka as kimbula or crocodile bread, in Spain these sweet and slightly oily rolls are called vigilantes.

Ingredients

  • 450 g (1 lb) strong flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

Put the flour and salt in a large bowl, then rub the margarine into the flour. Add the eggs and stir until just combined.

Combine the warm water, milk, 1 teaspoon of sugar and the yeast, pour into the flour mixture and combine until a soft but dry dough forms. You might need
