A true Goan classic, pork sorpotel is often eaten at Christmas, weddings and special occasions. The dish originates from the Alentejo region of Portugal where it is made with lamb, goat, beef or pork. The recipe then travelled far and wide to the Portuguese colonies of Brazil and East Timor as well as Goa.
