This very typical Goan Portuguese appetiser is as much loved in Goa as it is in Portugal. It literally translates to ‘patties of prawns’ which are shaped into half-moons, then dipped in egg wash and breadcrumbed before being fried until crisp. The prawn filling includes a white sauce, also known as béchamel, with only a hint of spice in the form of nutmeg and black pepper. I also like to add chilli flakes to the filling but whether you use chilli or not is totally up to you.
