There is nothing better than homemade applesauce prepared with hand-picked apples, and it is so easy to do! Be sure to use sweet cooking apples, such as golden Delicious, Jonagold, granny Smith, fuji, Jonathan, Mcintosh, or gravenstein; you can mix and match as you please. For a smooth applesauce, run the cooked apples through a food processor. Serve either hot or chilled. This recipe will keep in the refrigerator for 7 to 10 days. It lasts up to one year in the freezer.
