Ingredients

  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 5 ml cumin seeds
  • 1 onion

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the cumin seeds and fry until fragrant. Add the onion and sauté until tender. Add the lentils, turmeric and enough water to cover and simmer over low heat for 1.5–2 hours, until the lentils are cooked. Top up with more water during cooking if needed. Season with salt to taste.
