This makes the perfect accompaniment to Dave’s cheese sausages or a great addition to any cheese board.

Ingredients

  • 2 kg Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
  • 165 g seedless raisins
  • 2

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large, heavy saucepan.
  2. Stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves, then bring to the boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer uncovered until the mixture is cooked and the liquid has reduced. It will take about 30 minutes to reach a good thick consistency. Stir regularly to prevent scorching on the bottom.
