This streusel is good for baking on top of pies or coffee cakes, providing sweetness and crunch.

It is the topping for Flag-Raising Apple Pie.

Ingredients

Method

Combine the sugars in a small bowl with your fingertips, breaking up any lumps. Add the flour and mix to combine.

Cut the butter into 8 pieces and scatter them over surface. Work the butter in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freez
