This batter is usually used to make delicate, crisp cookies known as cigarettes.
The butterflies are a finishing touch for Duchess Cake.

Advance Preparations
Trace a butterfly pattern using the one on the following page as a guide onto a piece of thin cardboard. (The cardboard from a shoe box is the perfect thickness.) Carefully cut out the butterfly shape to give you a pattern for forming the cookies.
