  • 6 very ripe tomatoes
  • salt, sugar and freshly ground pepper
  • French dressing

Slice each tomato into 3 or 4 rounds or into quarters. Arrange in a single layer on a flat plate. Sprinkle with salt, sugar and several grinds of black pepper. Toss immediately in just enough French dressing to coat the tomatoes and sprinkle with chopped min
