Because wild rice cooks so quickly and expands so fully, we always have cooked rice ready for a variety of salads, soups, stews, and cakes. Even after it’s cooked, it will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator and freezes nicely.

This is our basic recipe. We’ll often add a sprig of cedar to season the pot. As with our Wild Rice Cakes, we will intentionally overcook the cooked rice to make dough for pancakes, flatbreads, griddle cakes, and cook
