There is nothing truly close to the flavor of fresh timpsula, but because it’s a wild root, specific to the prairies and difficult to obtain, we’ve created this version of cakes using turnips and butternut squash, mashed and then griddled. Top these with Cedar-Braised Beans, and Griddled Maple Squash, for a satisfying vegetarian dish.
