It’s hard to deny the allure of chocolate, the gift of the ancient Aztecs to the Spanish. Chocolate was first enjoyed as a dark, bitter beverage, and sugar was introduced later on. Here we’ve blended cocoa butter, raw cocoa powder, and pecans with a little agave as a sweetener. Although none of these ingredients are native to our region, they represent the ways we can all share in the joys of indigenous flavors throughout the Americas.
