Fan ke chau tan is a classic dish from Chinese cuisine. Straightforward, quick to prepare, and budget-friendly, every family boasts its own unique version. It’s typically served with freshly steamed rice, but I find it equally delicious nestled in a steaming bowl of soup with noodles.

  • 1 serving instant noodles with seasoning packet (flavor of your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil

Method

  1. Set the noodle seasoning packet aside for later use. Cook the noodles according to package instructions or until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the canola oil. Add garlic and the white part of the green onion and sauté for 1 minute. Add tomato wedges and cook for a few minutes until they soften and the oil takes
