I have a profound love for fermented foods, and fermented beans (found in black bean sauce) hold a special place in my heart. They add incredible standout flavor. Perhaps I adore them so much because my mother used fermented beans in many of her dishes during my childhood. The flavors of home are sometimes what I miss most, and this dish provides just that: a reminder of the taste of home.
