Here’s the smash burger that will have you singing O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A! This is a twist on our Classic WALTWINS Diner Smash Burger with the amazing zing from the onions! Steaming the top bun while the beef cooks atop the onions gives this one a depth of flavor that will have everyone asking for more.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
  • 6–7 ounces (170 to 200

Method

  1. Turn the griddle on to medium/high to high heat (above 400°F [200°C]).
  2. Once the griddle is to temperature, lay the oil on the griddle.
  3. Place the 2 meatballs in the oil, ensuring space between the meatballs to give them room to be smashed.
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper liberally onto the meatballs.
  5. After about 30 seconds, place a handful
