We never thought that simply stacking hot pastrami and Swiss cheese on rye bread would be this good. But when we added one of our favorite dressings and then pressed it to grilled perfection, it turned out better than good. It turned out great!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon (14 g) unsalted butter
  • 2 slices marbled rye bread

Method

  1. Turn the griddle on to medium/low heat (300 to 325°F [150°C to 170°C]).
  2. Once the griddle is to temperature, butter 1 side of each slice of the marbled rye and place 1 of the buttered slices of bread on the griddle. Spread ½ tablespoon of mayonnaise and ½ tablespoon of mustard on the bread and add 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
