The city of Austin has become a serious barbecue bastion in recent years and is widely known for its “Keep Austin Weird” mentality. Get into the same spirit with this purely Austin cross between a margarita and a martini. Weird and delicious both. Adjust the sweetness as you see fit.

Ingredients

  • Pimiento- or jalapeño-stuffed olives
  • Lime wedges
  • Kosher salt or coarse sea salt
  • 6 ounces

Method

  1. Skewer together an olive or 2 or 3 on a toothpick or mini bamboo skewer with a lime wedge for each of two martini glasses. Place kosher salt, about 1 tablespoon, on a saucer. Rub another lime wedge around the rim of each glass and dunk the rim of each glass in the salt.
