Yankee Shooter

The barbecue contest circuit is full of colorful characters, but none is more entertaining than Obie Obermark, the lean, tall Texan who invented the Yankee Shooter. To fix the Shooter right, you have to use Yankee Blaster, one of a score or so barbecue spice mixes that Obie makes and sells (obiecue.com). Our suggestion for a substitute works in a pinch, but it’s not the genuine article.
