Hot cross buns don’t only make an appearance at Easter time in my house. They are far too tasty to be only made once a year. I absolutely love the aroma of them baking, and the warming spices wafting through the kitchen is one of my favourite baking smells of all. I like to use allspice and cinnamon in mine, and add different dried fruits such as cranberries, golden raisins and blueberries, but do mix this up if you prefer. When served hot from the oven, spread with some good salted butter
