This cake has had many guises, the decoration techniques being the only alteration. This is my favourite way to present the cake, but you could use the icing and ganache to create many different finishes – perhaps leave the cake uncovered and pipe rounded domes of the icing between each layer instead. Whichever way you choose, the cake will be a hit and sure to please whoever is lucky enough to receive a slice.
