I love lovage and it goes wonderfully with chicken, as can also be seen in Lovage and Potato Soup. If necessary, replace it with tarragon and celery leaves (usually enough can be rescued from a bunch) or with dill. For the carbohydrate-hungry, boil up ½ pound (250 g) of dry medium egg noodles and add at the end.
