The Dr Pepper soft drink popped up in 1885—one year before Coca-Cola—in Waco, Texas (formerly known as Six Shooter Junction—I kid you not). It was in Wade Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store, where a pharmacist combined a unique mix of spices into what we get a kick out of drinking today. This sauce, which has endless depth of flavor, is also fabulous on ribs and chicken and brisket and sausage and pork and ... make me stop.
