This is a mezze dip I created for my cookery workshops where we prepare our own labna and harissa paste. You can adjust the fieriness to suit your palate.


  • 500 g/1 lb 2 oz labna
  • 1–2


Beat the labna in a bowl with the garlic and salt and stir in the harissa paste– taste the mixture to get the right quantity of harissa and salt to suit your palate. Stir in most of the honey and herbs. Spoon the mixture into a serving bowl and drizzle the rest of the honey over the top. Garnish with the remaining herbs and serve with chunks of crusty baguette, ciabatta or toasted flat breads.<
