This Indian dish is porridge-like in consistency and delicious for breakfast. In different parts of India and Africa, I’ve had variations on the theme made with bananas or sweet potatoes, even a combination of the two. If you’re camping, you can blend the coconut and chillies ahead of time and take it with you in your backpack, along with the yogurt and other ingredients.
