  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons

Method

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the water to a simmer. Add the sugar and sunflower seeds and stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is steaming.

Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Set aside to steep for 12 to 24 hours at room temperature. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean container, cover, and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
