  • About

The Alabama slammer, a bold, fruity Southern classic, is said to have originated at the University of Alabama in the 1970s. With whiskey, sloe gin, and amaretto, this cocktail embodies the state’s love for rich flavors and spirited traditions.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces fresh orange juice
  • 1 ounce Southern Comfort, whiskey, or bourbon

Method

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the orange juice, whiskey, sloe gin, and amaretto. Cover and shake vigorously until chilled. Fill a collins glass half full of ice. Strain into the glass and serve, garnished with the cherry and orange slice.
