  • About

The Duck Fart is Alaska’s signature shot, said to have originated at a bar in Anchorage. This layered libation—bold whiskey, smooth Baileys, and rich coffee liqueur—mirrors the state’s rugged yet comforting spirit, perfect for toasting under the northern lights.

Ingredients

  • ½ ounce coffee liqueur, preferably Kahlúa
  • ½ ounce Baileys Original Irish Cream

Method

Pour the coffee liqueur into a 2-ounce shot glass. Hold a bar spoon diagonally over the coffee liqueur so the tip of the spoon touches the side of the glass and the back side of the spoon faces up. Very slowly pour the Irish cream over the back of the spoon to create a distinct layer. Repeat to pour the whiskey over the spoon into the glass, creating a third distinct layer. Serve at once.
