This vibrant, tropical cocktail was created in 1957 by Harry Yee, the famed bartender at Waikiki’s Hilton Hawaiian Village. Tasked with showcasing Bols Blue Curaçao, Yee crafted this eye-catching drink with rum, pineapple juice, and sweet-and-sour mix. Unlike the Blue Hawaiian, which includes coconut cream, the Blue Hawaii is lighter and more citrus-forward, reflecting Hawaii’s bright, refreshing flavors. It can also be blended with ice for a frozen version.
