Created in 2005 to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Rhode Island’s Royal Charter, the Rhode Island red cocktail honors the state’s rich history, vibrant spirit, and growing craft-cocktail scene. Highlighting “pick-your-own” raspberry farms, this drink combines tequila, raspberry liqueur, and ginger beer for a refreshing local tribute.

Method

In a cocktail shaker, muddle 4 of the raspberries until they’re broken down. Fill the shaker with ice and add the tequila, raspberry liqueur, lemon juice, and orange bitters. Cover and shake vigorously until chilled. Strain into a chilled ice-filled highball or collins glass. Top with ginger beer and gently stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with the remaining raspberry and the lemon twist and serv
