  • About

A mix of bourbon, wild plum shrub, and honey syrup with a pinch of salt captures the spirit of South Dakota in this contemporary cocktail that balances bold flavors and simplicity. Fresh sage and lemon add earthy and bright notes, reflecting the state’s untamed plains and natural beauty.

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh sage leaves
  • ounces bourbon
  • 1 ounce <

Method

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh sage leaves to release their oils. Add the bourbon, wild plum shrub, simple syrup, salt, lemon juice, and egg white. Cover and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Fill the shaker with ice, cover, and continue to shake until well chilled and frothy. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with the sage sprig and/or lemon twist and serve.
