Although most gazpacho lovers think first of the iced tomato version, tomatoes weren’t popular in Europe until the 19th century, Gazpacho was originally a Moorish invention made with bread, oil, and nuts.

This is an easy recipe to prepare, except perhaps for peeling 48 grapes, which isn’t essential anyway. But if you’re a perfectionist, plan the grape peeling for a long phone conversation or a half-interesting TV show. Unfortunately I don’t know any little tricks to make the peeling
