  • About

Baked potatoes are tremendous all-rounders - the great fall-back when times are lean or the urge to cook is at its lowest ebb — and they can form the basis for a simple main course, or an accompaniment to anything from a plate of ham and salad to a spicy chilli con came. They are not quick to cook, to be sure, but they are almost effortless. When you’re baking a potato for yourself, make the most of the oven heat by slipping in an extra one or two to be used for mashed potatoes the next day
