You can test the oil temperature with a qatayef. The oil should immediately start to bubble around the qatayef when you place it in the pan.

Ingredients

For the Batter

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 packet (7 g) of instant yeast

Method

First make the batter. Mix the sugar and the yeast in a large bowl. Add the warm water and whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved and the yeast is activated. Stir in the flour, baking powder and rose water. Whisk until the batter is smooth and homogeneous. Cover and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
