Lemon Banana Ice Cream Charlotte

Here is one of those perfect mixtures of tastes-making my mouth water as I write. Half-way up the River Nile in Egypt is a small island called Banana Island where they grow so-called ‘lemon bananas’. These look like any normal banana with the same skin, colour and texture but they are lemon-shaped, and the flesh tastes like a mixture of banana and lemon. I dedicate this recipe to the memory of those wonderful fruit.
