Who doesn’t love a cookie that’s mostly butter?

Fuatscha Grassa are giant, buttery biscuits from the Engadin valley. Local legend regards the giant cookie as a fortune teller. Split one apart on New Year’s Day to see how much, or little, luck you will have in the following year, based on how many shards of cookie there are (the more the better).

The ingredients are quite simple, but a century ago they would have been expensive and luxurious - white flour, butter, eggs, and s
