Magenträs is a pretty pink spiced sugar made in canton Glarus and flavoured with sandalwood. The sugar lends not only a distinct taste, but also a rosy sparkle to classic, cakey Snickerdoodles.

Ingredients

  • 120 g butter, room temperature
  • 120 g sugar
  • 1 egg

Method

Preheat oven to 180° C.

Cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Beat in the egg and salt.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then stir into the butter mixture.

Form ping pong-sized balls, roll in Magenträs and place on a parchme
