  • 4 sprigs mint (In Cuba, they use yerba buena, a mint-like herb that is hard to find in the United States)
  • 1 tablespoon


Muddle the mint leaves with a mortar and pestle and mix them with the simple syrup. Add the rum and lime juice and pour into a glass over ice. Add the seltzer, and serve.
