This recipe is from a cookbook, The Modern Crofters Cookbook, in the Great Bernera Museum, originally compiled by residents of Bernera to raise funds for their community hall. This also has a recipe for a white raisin pudding (sometimes known as fruit pudding), made by mixing flour, raisins, sugar and suet to fill a cleaned intestine and boiling for a couple of hours.
