  • About

The origin of these small, fun, craggy cakes is unknown, though they seem to date from at least the mid-eighteenth century. The dough comes together quickly with the help of a food processor, but it can also be made by hand, using your fingers to rub the flour mixture and butter together. Any type of dried fruit or combination of dried fruits can be used. Currants, golden raisins, cherries, apricots, and cranberries are good choices.
