Andy’s mother, affectionately known as Schatze (pronounced Shot-zee), is a talented cook. She makes these crackers for her bridge group, for cocktail parties, and on Thanksgiving. They are always a big hit with guests before dinner.

Ingredients

  • cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tea

Method

  1. Place the cheese, flour, salt, cayenne, butter, and Worcestershire sauce in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade. Pulse several times until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from the processor and knead on a lightly floured surface by pushing forward with the heel of your hand 6 or 8 times. Divide the dough in half. Wrap the dough in wax paper and refrig
