This is always a popular dish at our house. It has a lovely color and a good texture. The kids love the crispy cheese crust.
In a 4-quart saucepan, bring 4 cups of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli and boil for 5 minutes. Strain into a colander and spray with cold water to stop the cooking process. Chop coarsely.
Melt the butter in a skillet. Sauté the shallots for 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the garlic and sauté for another minute.
