This very sweet confection is popular with certain younger people in our house. Frankly, we find it a bit sugary. It does go nicely with duck and goose, however, and it’s quite easy to make.
In a saucepan, bring all the ingredients to a boil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour, or until the apples are tender and the preserve is thick. Cool. Refrigerate until ready to use. This keeps for weeks in the refrigerator.
