This easy dessert, based on the French Tarte Tatin, goes apple pie one step better—it coats the apples in a toasty caramel syrup. Not only is this wonderfully delicious, but it is remarkably easy. For Thanksgiving we generally try to avoid any dishes that require last-minute preparation, but this is so yummy, and so simple to make, that we made an exception.
